Only few more days to NGVA Europe’s international conference and exhibition, hosted by Erdgas Mobil (German NGV Association). Focusing on a workshop style of presentation this year, Europe’s association for the promotion of natural gas and biomethane for transportation, NGVA Europe, picked the theme "Greener Vehicles: Mobility for the Future" (see agenda of all events here). We aim to boost the traditional conferences scene of the segment by promoting a different and attractive interaction with the participants in the form of 5 workshops, with diverse facilitators and speakers.

The 5 workshops and their respective facilitators are:

1. European Challenges vs. Global Opportunities – The Perspective of International OEMs on CNG
Facilitator: Timm Kehler, erdgas mobil Managing Director
See more
2. LNG, the Immediate Alternative for Road Transport
Facilitator: Trevor Fletcher, NGVA Europe Chairman of the Board and The Hardstaff Group Chairman.
3 .Biomethane: Concrete, Affordable and Deployable-Now Solution for a Wide Sustainable Mobility
Facilitator: Michele Ziosi, Consorzio NGV System Director
See more
4. Managing Urban Waste by Producing Biomethane. The Virtuous Circle in Urban Transport
Facilitator: Manuel Lage, NGVA Europe General Manager
See more
5. CNG: Potentiality, Synergy and Political Will
Facilitator: Gabriele Gozzi, NGV Global President
See more

Workshops will have simultaneous translation English-German and a permanent refreshment service which will allow the program not to be subject to pre-established coffee break hours. The workshops will be held in the Palais am Funkturm, strategically located next to exhibition hall 18, behind the entrance lobby.

Register for the workshops now!

The workshops are complemented by a bilingual Technical Tour to the TOTAL Heerstraße filling station in Berlin City which provides motorists with CNG, conventional fuels and Hydrogen and to Berliner Stadtreinigungsbetriebe (BSR), the Berlin municipal waste management company which operates a fleet of more than 300 waste collection trucks to collect the residual and organic waste from all Berlin households.

BSR has operated a fleet of 50 Daimler CNG waste collection trucks (all low floor), one fast-filling CNG station and one mobile filling station are operationable since 2002, adding another 30 vehicles and a second fast-filling station in 2010, and has plans to extend the CNG fleet up to 140 vehicles and construct another CNG fast filling station at a third depot by 2012. When their own biomethane fermentation plant (the raw material will be biowaste collected from Berlin households) is finalized by 2011/12, BSR will use that biogas to fill its fleet.

The Messe Berlin is the biggest and most important fair site in Germany’s capital. This is why it was selected to host NGV 2011! Visit the stand of NGVA Europe, the Natural & bio Gas Vehicle Association C 23!
